Are people embarrassed to publicly accept clothes on social media?

Not quite sure how to phrase that title.

On my local community Facebook page you regularly have people give things away - furniture, decor, toys etc. I’ve noticed that when those items are put up people comment yes please, consider me if not gone etc etc. Well today I put up DS clothes from a clear out. Not one comment but floods of PMs. Anyway, happy they got snapped up as ot saves me having to organise a donation but made me wonder - is it a pride thing? And if so, why would asking for a bed frame / lamp / kids toys be any different?

I'd say not being able to afford basic clothes can make people feel ashamed. I'd have guessed it's more a shame thing than instantly jumping to it's their pride/ego, and again, for the same reason, bedframes are more expensive so, in turn perhaps less shameful to not be able to buy new.

Yeahh in an ideal world people wouldn't have to worry about judgement, for any reason 😊 since it's always better when things don't go to waste 💕
