Tender upper molar after root canal, is extraction likely now?

Had a root canal done on a back upper molar a couple of months ago. Went for the crown appt six weeks later and dentist wouldn’t do it as tooth was tender if I press on it. Have an appt to go back in Oct. It’s still tender/painful.

is it doomed? Am I going to need an extraction? So annoying as it cost a fortune.

I don't know but interested to read this.

My upper molar root canal is amazing, I can't tell which one, but my bottom one is like you describe - it sort of feels like my tooth has a headache...

I hope there is an option other than having it removed. (Although I haven't had a crown on mine, I don't think it was an option)

Oh I thought you had to have a crown?

im definitely avoiding eating on that side. Not sure if I should try antibiotics incase it’s an infection.

also not sure if the dentist didn’t want to do the crown appointment as they were running 30 mins late and I was last appointment of the day so they should have finished.
