A whole day to myself!

Well well well, right at the end of the summer holidays I find myself with a day all to myself tomorrow, I’ve got to drop dh and dc to the station tomorrow at about 8:30 and then I’m free as a bird, I’m very excited but don’t want to waste the day being lazy. I’m quite productive generally and very active but I’m recovering from surgery (had it a month ago so mobile and can walk fine but still not able to do my regular sporty hobbies) and have been lacking in motivation to even get out and walk this past week.
So my plan is to drop them and be ready in the right clothes for a gentle hike for a couple of hours and then be home for around 11ish. And then…. What shall I do next?! I might do some baking. Could pop over and see Mil, or my sister… What would you do with a free day to yourself?

Are you lot all just too jealous of my day of peace that you are remaining silent?!

I think visiting family would be a waste personally! But then I’m not very sociable. I like to go and sit in a cafe alone and read my book personally

Bath, book or Netflix. Something nice to eat. I would absolutely not be visiting any relatives.

Well fair enough 😂
I love my MiL and spending time with her always feels like time well spent to me.
i don’t drink tea or coffee so never set foot in a cafe and I like reading books lying down which is probably frowned upon in such a place!! I’ve just finished a book that was a bit confusing, I’ve got another one lined up ready to go, might start it now - I might end up spending some time reading tomorrow too, I do love a good book.

Another person who’s not into visiting a relative!!
I’d love a bath but I can’t have one yet until all the stitch/wound sites have properly healed, I’m desperately missing them 😭
I hate cooking but love eating, happily will bake a cake or something though.

Well cafes obviously sell lots of different types of hot and cold drinks and food, and everyone eats and drinks something so you could still give it a try for change.

I love spending time with my family too but you can do that anytime. Maybe just enjoy lying down reading your book, sounds lovely and relaxing!

Oh yes I appreciate that! I only drink water (or alcohol 😂) and cafes near me are the sandwich and some stale crisps kinds or a jacket potato, not something I’m looking for!
i’ll call Mil at some point and see if she’s home, she’s so busy usually she probably won’t have time to fit me in but would be nice to see her on my own for a change, it will only be a half an hour pop in, she’s 5 minutes away from me.
I just had a friend message asking if I’ve got time for lunch tomorrow or Monday so I may well go from my walk to meet her, there’s a lovely pub near where she lives! Quite fortunate she messaged really, I’ve not seen her for ages and we have a lot to catch up on.
