Angry Buyer not received Vinted parcel

MaturingCheeseball · Yesterday 08:28

(Sorry if I’m in the wrong topic.)

I sold an item on Vinted, posted it the same day but I just received a cross message from buyer to say it is marked as delivered but they haven’t received it. I confirmed that I had sent it via official channels and tracking etc.

They have opened a case against me!! Do I do anything further?

They have to do that to get compensation for the loss I think?

Floppyearedlab · Yesterday 08:32

Following as this has happened to my mum too

I bought an item that was marked as delivered but wasn't. I think the inpost locker was full and it never got dropped off. The only way for a buyer to get a refund is the click the 'I have a problem' option. Vinted will contact the courier and either the item will be returned to you or if it's lost, I think you both get a refund.
Its not your fault if the courier has lost it, so you don't have to accept a buyer being rude.

CMOTDibbler · Yesterday 08:39

It happens - either genuinely not actually delivered to the right place, or people trying it on. Just leave it to the Vinted complaint system (the buyer has to raise it) - and they investigate with the courier and then you both get a refund. In my latest one RM said it was delivered, buyer said it wasn't, but in the end I still got my money even though the buyer was trying to get me to refund

I was just a bit rattled by the buyer directly sending me a somewhat brusque message. It wasn’t me delivering it!

If you went through the proper channels as regards posting and have the receipts then the buyer’s complaint is absolutely not with you.
Vinted will know you have posted, it all appears on the system.
Im not sure why they’re angry at you that it erroneously says “delivered”!

If they get in touch again remind them to follow Vinted complaint or help procedures and then block them.

MaturingCheeseball · Yesterday 08:48

Yes, I’ll do that. I haven’t done anything wrong!

Just send them proof of postage (a screen grab of the confirmation that it was sent) - of
Course they have to open a case it’s nothing personal. Was their message actually brusque or are you interpreting it that way?

MarmaladeSandwich7 · Yesterday 08:52

There have been quite a few glitches on Vinted lately.

Friendlygingercat · Yesterday 09:01

I don't sell on Vinted - I sell on Ebay and a few other platforms. I just get co-pilot to compose an appropriate message. It helps to distance myself from grumpy buyers. You need to remain emotionally uninvolved and just deal with the logistics.

Biggles27 · Yesterday 17:07

I had this. After Vinted thinking about it, I got my money. Hang on in there, just leave it with Vinted. If tracking shows it’s delivered you should be ok

Funny this should pop up as I’ve just had the same thing happen (I’m the buyer in this situation)

I got a notification from Vinted and via email to say my parcel is at the collection point (local post office) however when I went to pick it up they insisted they don’t have it. I’ve checked back a few times over the last few days and still no joy.

The tracking number on Royal Mail states it’s at the post office and when I try to get help via their website it’s useless and I got nowhere. I did message the seller but they say all they can see is that it was delivered to the post office.

I have had to open a case with Vinted, I know I’ll get reimbursed here but worried the sellers going to end up out of pocket due to no fault of their own, as the only thing I can think of is that either it was delivered to a different collection point by mistake, or the post office has accidentally given the parcel out to someone else. I’m hoping the first scenario as at least at some stage it’ll eventually be returned to sender and the seller will get their item back.

PepsiBook · Yesterday 17:47

If you've sent it you'll have proof. No need to panic.

Trotula · Yesterday 18:35

Vinted process is pretty automatic; as soon as you generate a label, drop it off, as it goes through the shipping process and arrives at the collection point, there’s a notification. When you collect a parcel it’s scanned or if it’s in a locker then the buyer has to scan the code to release the locker or whatever mechanism.
It must be something wrong with their process; either it was placed in the locker or someone has nicked it.
Whatever has happened there is no way you could be involved.
Odd stuff happens at times with V.
Maybe message the buyer saying sorry this has happened but I posted it on x date.
Usually you are both notified at each stage of the process.
Then leave it to V to sort out, that’s what the buyer protection fee is for!

SewYellowLikeButter · Yesterday 19:09

That’s an issue with the delivery driver not you. They need to report delivery issue and let Vinted deal with it. On your side if you can prove to Vinted you sent it then they’ll give you the money, refund the buyer and get the money from the delivery service themselves.

acadsp · Yesterday 22:45

I had an issue with Vinted telling me my purchase had arrived to my collection point when it hadn’t. It was a local shop that does Evri drop off - a worker there said Evri have laid off a lot of drivers recently. They scan the parcels when they get to the local Evri depot which triggers Vinted saying it has arrived. However, they aren’t able to deliver as many parcels with fewer drivers so what would be normally be same day delivery once it arrived at the depot isn’t happening at the moment. I had separate emails from Evri saying my parcel was delayed but it wasn’t obvious that it still hadn’t arrived when I got the Vinted notification until I went to the shop to try and collect, was told about the delays and then went on the Evri tracking. It arrived eventually but was still a few days after that!

SaltedCaramelGu · Yesterday 23:25

I read the title as 'Andy Burnham' and wondered what you had sold him on Vinted.

Friendlygingercat · Yesterday 23:27

Dealing with angry customers is part of selling online. I have got coipilot to generate messages for all the likely scenarios - item delayed, lost, arrived damaged etc and just paste them in. I just call them my stock messages. Buyers just want someone to whinge at.

Ohbabypinkpanties · Today 00:10

I’ve had two parcels marked as delivered to my home address by Evri which have not arrived this week. I pressed -
There is an issue !. No idea what’s going on with EVRI! There were Photos of parcels posted on my delivery notices but one was somewhere on a farm and the other photo was of a parcel what was not even addressed to me! Really odd! I wasn’t rude to seller ! Would not use EVRI anymore.
