Could these hot flushes at 37 be perimenopause or menopause?

i’m 37, and for the last couple of months, I’ve been experiences these days of feeling so hot, I’m clammy and red and my face and neck get so hot. I’m in Scotland, we’ve had some warm days but nothing like heatwave mad. Just normal warm summer but with breeze and rain so it can’t be that. And it’s happening in air conditioned places as well.

Is this the menopause? Or peri menopause? I’ve never experienced anything like it, and I’m not unwell so it’s not a fever from illness.

There is a chance that it could be the start of peri, yes. My symptoms started around the same age. It is early, but possible.

I Would get your bloods etc checked.

It just seems so early. My mum was late 40s before she started getting anything like this. And I’m feeling so much more angry lately, just quicker to anger and frustration and upset. I was never particularly emotional when it came to temper or annoyances but the last few months has been like I’m a different person. It’s awful.

Getting an appointment with the GP in my town is like winning the lottery. I don’t know what I’d put on the form to get them to see me. It’d be dismissed as “you’re a woman.”

I was 37 when mine started with hot flushes, anxiety and brain fog. More symptoms gradually crept in over the years!
