It's been so refreshing to see how much praise the police have received from the public since the tragic accident last weekend.

Agree wholeheartedly. Ridiculously I have almost wanted to walk up to a random police officer and tell them how much I appreciate what they do. I didn’t though, in case they thought I was a weirdo

I’m a police officer and I really appreciate this post. I expect to get hate all of the time on social media as that’s the norm. It’s really heartwarming to see that we are appreciated. We are just regular people, trying our best in difficult circumstances.

I know all police officers would love a member of the public to approach them and thank them, so please do. It’ll make a change to being abused and assaulted ❤️

My mates DS is a police officer, one of those young ones that looks fresh out of school, he is however almost 28. Known him most of his life. so I say thanks to all of them but also to everyone who is in their circle and loves them, must be stressful.

I’m in a situation where I’m a bit miffed at the police at the moment.. but despite that I do appreciate everything they do do. I try to remind my children as much as possible how brilliant the police are too.

I won’t let one or two bad reps tarnish my view, although I do believe in accountability too.
