An inquest has found the Dame Jenni Murray died as a result of a RTA when she was dazzled by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle. She collided with 2 stationary (parked I think) vehicles and sustained serious injuries.
I didn't realise any of this. How very sad.
I hate these over bright headlights on large vehicles. I have been dazzled many times and it is horrible..

It is sad and about time the goverment took action over these ridiculously over bright headlights many cars have now. The ones on the bigger cars hit oncoming drivers in normal cars right in the eyes.

I hate driving at night now, particularly on roads I don’t know. The increase in brightness and predominance of SUVs just makes it worse (their headlights are angled right into your face in a normal car).

They can be pretty bad for pedestrians as well. Walking home along one particular road in the dark, I have to either squint or keep my head bent.

I found this story very odd, given that Jenni had just been complaining about eyesight problems and of seeing flashing sparkling lights in her vision in everyday life. She wrote about it just last year, I think.
