How are you all Spending the last week before the kids go back to school next week ?

We (DD 11 AND DS 17) are thinking about slumming it at home, but have one day at warner bro studios on tuesday.

It's been a balancing act here of heatwave, work and fun every day in-between. I've broken out into 2 massive mouth ulcers. I just want to watch Gilmore Girls and drink tea everyday.

Today, my DH is having surgery and next week I have a colonoscopy!

Dcs are fending for themselves.

Me (teacher) and the kids have had a fab 5 weeks! DH managed to get 2 weeks off too.

Weather is pouring rain and muggy.

Went to The Deep on Monday and have done fuck all since really, I was WFH Tuesday Wednesday. I wanted to go to the coast today or tomorrow but the rain is upon us so not sure what to do. Weekend we’re going to Barnard Castle, the cinema and possibly Liverpool for the day to museums.

Running round like headless chickens getting uniform, shoes, travel pass etc
Had a great holiday though so a few days of chaos before back to the grind isn’t that bad!

Had wanted to do a bigger week of activities for the end of summer but we are all sick so basically spending a week recovering!
As much as it’s disappointing at least we aren’t sick next week.

I’m a teacher so it feels like the holidays are all ready over as back Tuesday. We are seeing friends tomorrow, I’m hosting a baby shower Saturday, going to London (long way from where we live) for a concert on Sunday and then Monday will be getting sorted to go back to work. The children are going to my MILs for Tuesday and Wednesday so they will have fun while I’m working.

School went back 2 weeks ago for us. But our final week was peaceful as kids went on holiday with their aunt and uncle. So lots of date nights for us. 😜

Currently the Google home is babysitting our DD she's learnt to broadcast and it's providing "so much fun".

Hope it all goes well.

It's what we wanted there a few weeks ago, wasn't it? Cold, rainy, muggy weather. 🙃

Going camping in the rain this weekend and will then spend next week drying the tent, washing all the wet muddy clothes and then back to school Thurs!

Expensively. DD just sent me her Amazon wishlist for all the stationery she "needs" and declared that she also needs a new blazer. DS needs a bus pass and, he tells me, a £100 calculator.

We're away this weekend: DC visiting family, DH and I in what was supposed to be a nice little cottage. The cottage cancelled on us on Tuesday (thanks!) so I scrambled to get somewhere else. The new place doesn't have a sex pond hot tub so I'm sulking slightly, but it's got a nice view. Back on Sunday night, family dinner on Monday, then back to work on Tuesday. DS starts sixth form on Wednesday and DD's back to school on Friday.
