Any GPs about? - general question about how you would diagnose women's health conditions

Hello

I have a question about how GPs go about diagnosing things if they are not sure. What website would you search with a persons symptoms? Would this be NICE or another.

The reason I ask is I'm running a campaign to get a condition called Aerobic Vaginitis better known. What I'd like to find out is what documents / websites etc need to be updated to help with this.

Be really grateful if you could give me a working GP perspective.

Thanks!

Hello - yes it is for a condition called aerobic vaginitis as mentioned in the post. I and a number of others have suffered greatly from this. It is well known in the scientific literature and other guides (for example see link below) but GPs don't know about it and I'd like to try and change this.

Hi @FookFookFook - Thanks very much for your feedback. Sadly I have had some contact with RCOG via my MP and they fobbed me off basically. Therefore it is dispiriting to know that this is where you would turn first (not any fault of yours though). They made a lot of noise about women's health but when it came to it they would not do anything.
