Should next day delivery from Dusk have arrived today?

I placed an order with dusk yesterday (25th Aug) at 2pm and paid for next day delivery. I think that means I should have had my new pillows today. My partner disagrees. I've had an email saying it's with Evri and expect to arrive in the next 3-5 days.

The cut off for the next day delivery is 7pm.

I just want my new pillows 😭

I've emailed them to ask for a refund of the fee.

Should next day delivery from Dusk have arrived today?

Yes you should have had them next day. Ask for a refund. Evri are notoriously rubbish. I just would not have ordered something from someone stating they are using them. I've had a lot of stuff not turn up.

I agree with you, that's not next day delivery.

When does your partner think next day delivery should arrive?

I would want my delivery fee refunded

Yes, you should have had them. I’d ask for a refund if the delivery fee.

The company you buy from
usually stipulates cut off time for next day delivery. With some companies it can be 1pm; with others it can be as late as 11pm.
However, recent experience suggests that there will be a get out clause in the small print. I recently ordered something at 12:55 on a Tuesday knowing that the cut off time for next day delivery was 1pm and paid the extra for next day delivery. It eventually arrived on the Friday. I have asked for a refund of the £7.99 I paid for NDD and have been told that as long as it arrives within a fortnight of the order date, then it’s just a case of “these things happen. Sorry”

There’s an issue with Evri and retailers offering Next Day delivery via them when they can’t fulfil it. I read a whole thread about it on Reddit. I asked my (very good) Evri driver as my Next stuff has never arrived next day, and he said that they can’t accommodate it in our area, have never been able to, and Next shouldn’t be offering it.

I’d only rely on next day with Royal Mail or DPD I think.

Gateappreciation · 27/08/2026 07:41

Yes, you should have received them.

beaglescurleduplikebagels · 27/08/2026 08:41

Of course you should have received them - what does your partner think “next day” means? 🫣

But Evri are notoriously shit at delivering anything on time so I’d not trust any business that used them and promised that something would arrive next day.

IAmInTheHouseSidney · 27/08/2026 08:44

You are entitled to refund if it doesn't arrive today.
Maybe it's just stupid automated message and they will still come

PineappleCandy · 28/08/2026 16:47

They arrived today and I absolutely hate the pillow cases. They're so rough and scratchy (I gave them a quick cool wash and tumbled dried them on low as advised on the tag). The pillows are incredibly flat too. It's very disappointing.

Yes I recently ordered from a wallpaper company with Next Day. It was meant to arrive on the 25th and still hasn’t arrived. They used Evri and apparently the courier firstly just didn’t turn up and then kept trying to deliver in the middle of the night…
