recently was visiting skye for a week staying with 1st cousins at the end of the week i gave them £60 to cover my bed + breakfast. I was shocked when they said whats this! they continued the bed + breakfast near them charges £80 per night but they'd do it for €70 so i was fleeced £490 and to think i took time off my work to help build a wall ( no charge ) ive a good mind to send them a bloody invoice highland hospitality i right.

Did you invite yourself? Did they treat you like a paying guest? Nice cooked breakfast served daily etc.

I think you may have invited yourself and they sound awful cfs for charging you if that had not been explicitly said before the stay.

You went up to help build a wall? You should have immediately said Okie dokie and I’ll take that €70 per night off my charge for building a wall and tell them what they owed you. why on earth did you just pay up?

So you went to build for them? I'd have expected to be hosted for nothing, if I was spending a considerable amount of time doing that (if they were hard-up, I'd offer them something towards their extra costs for having me, but assuming that's basic meals and maybe a tiny amount of electricity/water etc, that's not a lot).
So they were expecting a working guest to pay the same amount as someone going on a holiday and staying in a business?
I never charge my guests, even though they're not working for me (yes, I'd appreciate them offering to buy the odd meal or take out, but only businesses should be charging.

no it was pr-arranged my visit because i had to give advance notice for time off work. the breakfast was mostly porridge twice i got the plate of ♥ attack also i gave them a lift to the shops! having a small family i'l just have to put up with the 💰 grabbing buggers!
