Festival packing help!

So had all my outfits planned for a hot sunny summer festival… now it’s going to bloody piss it down 😭😭😭

I’m supposed to be packing. But am just procrastinating. It’s going to be warm but wet. Arrrrrrrrgh! FFS. What shall I pack - help me Mumsnet 🙏🙏🙏

A roll of large bin liners.
It has been 20 years since I went to a festival so things may have moved on, but every wet one I went to in the 90s and early 2000s this was a must.
You can wear them to keep you dry, sit on one of the ground is wet, and they can be thrown away once filthy.

Just add wellies and a hoodie to what you've already planned to take. And maybe a waterproof jacket.

Wellies and a waterproof. Are you camping? If so more black bin bags than you imagine you need.

What do you usually wear when it's warm and wet? Pack that.

Take a light rain jacket and make sure it’s a longer one so it’s not an issue if you sit on a wet surface. A light jacket means you can stick it in your bag when not using, and a carrier bag is helpful if you need to pack it away wet.

Go for light, summery clothes underneath so you’re cool enough. I find shorts pretty good when it rains as it’s easier to dry your legs than to dry trousers. You’re also ready for the sun whenever it makes an appearance.

Prepare for a trip back to the campsite to get changed at 5/6ish as it cools down quickly at this time of year. Take some funky jumpers or fleeces.

A cap is a good idea when it’s drizzly to keep rain off your face. And a good pair of waterproof walking boots is usually better than wellies (unless it’s a mud-fest). Get pissed and have fun!
