Would you consider this option for your child?

DS is about to go into year 6 and we will be looking at high schools. We have 2 state school choices. 1 of which im not really keen on.
There is 1 private school that offers a 100% bursary. If you thought your child stood a good chance of getting it would you give it a go just for another option? Ive spoken to DS he has looked at it online and is open to looking. I wouldn't put pressure on it but just being open to it.
Im a single mum so definitely would not be able to afford the fees. However if he did get the bursary I could pay for the trips and uniform.

What would you do in my position?

Just to add DS dad is being very negitive about the idea. Not surprising tbh, he never pushes DS for opportunities and tbh he has narc traits and I feel he wouldn't want DS doing better than him. Thats an entirely different story though.

Give it a go, but the bursary will be means tested by an external company and they will go through everything!

And it will be reassessed every year and you might lose discounts etc

No harm in trying but a 100% bursary is fairly unusual so I would want to know more about the school.

Thanks for letting me know. Im happy for them to go through my finances. Im definitely near the low end of income. Even if it was a 80 or 90% I think we could make it work.

Be very ckear with your son its only an ootion if he gets the bursary, not adefinite thing that will happen.

How do you know who is on 100% bursary? Surely it's confidential information?

I work in a school and in a department where I know this info.
