Where to stay in Tenerife?

We want to go away for a few nights in November. We’re a couple in our late 30s/40, no kids. We enjoy the Benidorm tribute acts/karaoke sort of night life, but definitely don’t want to be going clubbing. We’d like somewhere with relaxed bars with pool, options for tribute acts on the evenings, that sort of thing.

Can anywhere recommend anywhere?

Costa Adeje

Yup! Has all the bars etc - I stayed up hill so could avoid the chaos some nights but still enjoy a cocktail and music if in the mood.

Los Critianos.

There Los Cris, Playa,de last America's and Costa Adejecare all on the south coast and run into each other..

Playa de last America's is the busiest and has 'the strip of party bars'. I would sugget stopping in either of the other two. All are a short transfer from the airport

Puerto del Carmen is fab. Loads of restaurants and by the beach

Pinkgin00 · 25/08/2026 23:58

Costa Adeji. Lots of great hotels to pick from and bars with what you are looking for.

Playa de las Americas but the Golden Mile area. I’ve stayed at the Mediterranean Palace (hotel) and Parque Santiago III a good few times, plenty of family friendly tributes and bars but not like the Veronica’s Strip area

Costa Adeji

Has anyone been to Costa Adeje and Americas? My family were saying to go to Americas, but I do think Adeje looks lovely.

Thanks for the suggestions - and will look at the Lanzarote one too!

Personally we prefer Costa Adeje.
Beaches for the day. Bars with entertainment in the afternoon and evening. Restaurants galore.
Not that we've been but seen a sign for Bingo.
Most places the entertainment finishes about midnight then just plays quiet music until 1ish.
A couple of bars stay open until 2/3am but these are few and far between.
It's about a 40 minute slow walk to playa de last Americas.

Costa Adele is nice, have stayed there before! There is a big hill but there is also a taxi rank at the bottom of it so it’s not too bad!

Forgot to say.
Best to stay in either the La pinta area or the fanabe.
The walk down to the la pinta beach is helped there being escalators back up.
Or the lift in the car park.
In my opinion there is more around these areas.
The big hill is ok if I can do it with my limp then anyone can slowly get up.
Walk the opposite way to pdla and there are more beaches and areas to stay.
Playa paraiso and playa del duque to us are lovely just to far out.

We stayed at the Iberostar Bouganville Playa hotel a couple of years ago, which is in Costa Adeji, but also on the border of Las Americas. We did venture to both sides so we really liked the location. It was close to lots of bars and restaurants. Just avoid the Veronica strip in Las Americas!

Edited to add the hotel is now called Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa.

Thank you! Will look at that. Which side did you prefer?

Costa Adeje. Much nicer than Playa de las Americas.

We spent most of the time in Costa Adeji, it had everything we wanted.

The Golden Mile area of Playa de Las Americas is nice, but the issue with Las Americas is there are some very ropey areas ( ie near Veronica's) so as long as you stay clear from that area you should be OK.

I agree with access to the beach being easier there, lots of bars to choose from in that area which offer different entertainment

Los Christianos is great
