Sky or garden bar would be good.

Plume is nice if you enjoy wine. Fairly reasonably priced . Friendly staff too

There aren't really any non-touristy pubs around there as it is tourist central.

If you want to sit outside, Gordon's Wine Bar is really nice and shouldn't be too busy on a Tuesday. Otherwise The Crusting Pipe in Covent Garden Market.

Alligator bar

The bar at the top of the Royal Opera House. You don’t need to be going to see a show to go in there. Lovely location with views over Covent Garden.

cannotfindanickname · 25/08/2026 17:08

Though it will close whenever whatever show is on today ends. That is likely to be late ish though.

You'll overpay for drinks though.

There's also a rooftop bar on top of the Amano hotel which is fine.

bruffin · 25/08/2026 17:11

Kittyhawk is another rooftop bar

squeaver · 25/08/2026 17:19

The Marquess of Anglesey (corner of Russell Street and Bow St) has a bar on the top floor with big open windows - not completely uncovered but nice enough.

Could you pop up to Soho? Highly recommend the rooftop bar in the Broadwick hotel - about 10 mins walk from Leicester Square.

I like the bar in the Covent Garden Hotel and you can usually get a seat there. Or its sister hotel in Ham Yard.

Very sadly, this closed recently. It’s now a Mr

The rooftop bar at the Royal Opera house is amazing - avoid pre-show times and it’s just lovely

hardshoulderr · 26/08/2026 16:28

Agree about the flute bar at Broadwick also bar swift is really nice in Soho , You need to book a table for that.

hardshoulderr · 26/08/2026 16:29

Gordon's wine bar is very much in the shade of this time of year yesterday looked a bit murky

Oh, I went here, this is opposite palladium. You got a lift to a really nice rooftop bar.

Punch & Judy pub in middle of Covent Garden. Balcony overlooks the street performers.

WhiskerPatrol · 26/08/2026 17:06

When are you going? How will you be dressed? Do you want somewhere fancy or somewhere more fun/relaxed?

Yeah, it's okay, but it's a bit kind of Facebook Mum
You just go up the escalators

Terrace Bar at the Royal Opera House is lovely. No more expensive than various other places, great view of Covent Garden. Anyone can go there, doesn't have to be for a performance.

The indoor parts are worth a visit if the weather is miserable. Drinking port for the barrel in the low ceilinged rooms is a great atmosphere.
