Found a tag from a lingerie shop in DP’s pocket

Earlier today I was checking through DP’s suit pockets before taking it to the dry cleaners and found a tag in the inside pocket for Victoria’s Secret.

I called him to ask about it and he’s said he last wore it for a wedding just under three years ago, he doesn’t know where it’s come from and maybe the tag belonged to one of his sisters. He did attend this wedding without me and I’m sure that it’s from this occasion.

I’m quite certain that it’s a newer suit and was purchased whilst we’ve been together. It wouldn’t have been second hand either. The item was £69 and in a size large but it doesn’t actually say on the label what it was. I’m aware they also sell PJs & robes etc.

Is there likely to be an innocent explanation for this or am I right in thinking it’s suspicious?

I presume if he last wore it three years ago, it would have been dry cleaned three years ago and the reason you picked it up was because it’s been worn recently.

Guess you’ve got two options, believe him or not. If not, you’ve got to decide what to do next. Either let it lie , then there may always be that slight distrust, or investigate more. Look at old bank statements for any unusual transactions, look at his phone etc.

Can you search the code online and see what comes up?

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. The suit hasn’t been worn in the last 3 years. He didn’t have it dry cleaned after the last wedding.

ask his sisters if they remember asking him to hold the tag, if that’s his excuse? You can tell them what it’s for to jog their memory (or expose the lie…).

What was his reaction when you asked? Don’t just drop it, when you see him talk to him about it and look at his reaction. I’d be able to tell my partner was lying just by talking to him.

Not a receipt, a clothing tag

If it was satin pjs could it be for any bridesmaids or the bride? Were his sisters bridesmaids? Would he have been close to the wedding party?

Did they have matching pjs for getting ready photos? Did he give sister a lift or have another duty with the bridal party?

Nothing screams other woman like satin pjs.

Honestly, unless you have other concerns, after 3 years I’d let it go.

Many times I’ve picked up bits and put them in my pocket to throw out later.

If it was for an OW he wouldn’t take the tag off and make it look second hand.

If it was from the wedding, someone probably just handed it over or he saw it on the floor and picked it up.

My sister handed me one as she was getting her DD ready and I ended up putting it in my pocket.

I wouldn’t overthink this personally.

Were his sisters in the bridal party? People quite often get matching pyjama sets for the pre-wedding bit. You could look through the wedding photos to see.

Op hes hardly going to be wearing a suit while an OW is putting on her satin pj's.

That would be weird. Surely if their was another woman you'd both get ready for bed together?

It’s probably quite unlikely he’s cheated if this is the only indication. It’s not exactly strong evidence. Why are you doubting him? That’s probably more relevant.

would a size Large fit any of his sisters?

It feels innocent to me. If he was part of a wedding party there may have been a lot of brand new satin pjs around.
I can also think of no tryst like circumstances with a man where he would end up with the tag for my pyjamas in his pocket.
Did he stay at the venue? Last wedding I stayed at the groom had used my room to get ready before hand cos the bride was in the bridal suite.
