He works in architecture. As did I before becoming a sahm.

Pilot with major European group.
However, I am a senior IT PM and have always been able to work remotely. Only ever got challenging, if we both needed to be away at the same time, which happened about 3 times in the past 20 years.

Lawyer. Our pension pots and ISA savings are identical within a few hundred pounds as he’s always topped mine up to equalise his.

That's great but not all couples can do this when only one is earning. So that shouldn't stop someone from being a SAHP. Like I said, plenty of time to catch up.

He puts ‘chartered accountant’ on forms, but he’s a senior finance director at a FTSE100.

Clearly I should have done my accountancy finals… but I bloody hated it.

Both great job titles!

DH was a lowly paid call center worker when I was a sahm ,I made it my job to get everything for free and most food reduced. I knew when every reduction was taking place and got us really nice food ! All DC clothes were really nice brands but charity or free and for a few xmaass when they were little their toys were free and came from freecyle.
I saved two pounds a week into a summer fun tin and same for a holiday. We had a youth hostel card and went away in their sale.
Obviously cut our own hair and no nice clothes for adults ,needs from sainsbuies tu etc
I only say this because I was told I was lucky to be a Sahm by a lady at NCT who was having building work done and looking at cooker taps etc and how she wished she could spend more time with her boy . She was also in and out of hairdressers etc.

We need building work also and we did get a new kitchen but after I went back to work .
I'm back at work now after 8 years out, working ten and it feels like a distant blip on the horizon .
All the free furniture I got was /is really nice so we Havant swopped it out ,the only stuff we got new was some chairs and sofas from IKEA.
