Ideas for gentle days out in the North West with a recovering teenager

My teenager has been very unwell recently and spent a lot of time in Alder Hey, as a result she’s missed most of her school holidays.

With just over a week left I am trying to organise some fun days out for her but struggling with ideas, can people please suggest some.

She is 14, has restricted mobility due to recovering from illness so can’t do anything too strenuous or physical, she’s very fatigued so ideally something that’s a couple of hours or half a day rather than a long day out. Something where she can take it at her own pace and rest when needed would be great.

We are in Cheshire so looking for ideas in North West England.

Firstly hope she recovers quickly. My teens still enjoy pottery painting which is a nice gentle activity you can do together but that totally depends on the interests of your kid.

Chester Zoo. You could walk round as much as you fancied.

Knowsley safari.

Cheshire oaks for shopping or bowling and a meal.

A tour bus round Liverpool, Chester or Manchester.

I'm not too familiar with 14 year old girls so feel free to ignore if boring or babyish.

I’m sorry she’s been through this, hope she’s on a steady path to recovery now.
What sort of things is she interested in normally?

She loves animals, farms and zoos etc. Knowsley safari is a good shout. I think Chester Zoo might be a bit much for her right now but she loves it there.

She’s very artistic so pottery painting another good shout.

Cheshire Oaks also a good shout as she loves shopping.

She can manage around 20 mins walking at the moment before needing to rest and only really on flat ground. Part of her condition causes her joints to swell so much more causes her pain. She’s ADAMANT she will not use a wheelchair as she’s had enough of being pushed around while in hospital which restricts a lot of activities.

If she won't use a wheelchair would she use a mobility scooter or a tramper? They're often available to hire at places such as parks and zoos and NT houses/gardens
ETA and they're fun to drive!

Theatre or cinema? Drive through safari is a good shout. Maybe spa or pampering?

Are there any touring theatre performances /musicals on at Manchester theatres? Lunch then a matinee show would be a special treat.
