If you’ve picked your teen up from Reading festival on Sunday night, can you talk me through how it works please?

Hi, my teen is going to Reading and i’m collecting him on Sunday night. I’m not sure how it works.

Is there a pickup area? Or is it better to meet him offsite somewhere?
And he’ll stay till the stages finish at 11pm but I dont know how long to allow for him to get back to the tent, pack it up and walk out.

so if you’ve done it before, i’d love to know your hints and tips.

Following. At least you have a plan. Think my DD thinks I will just appear like a genie at a time of her choosing.
My DS was always picked up. Packed before the evening and missed the last few songs.

My daughter and friend were picked up from the station; they left half way through the last act so it wasn’t too manic and the tent fires hadn’t started.

Yes there’s a designated pick up area. A car park. I went on the Reading festival website under travel and it gives you the location. I’m sure you can pick up wherever you want but the pick up area works if you’re unfamiliar with the area like me all the other cars there.

It’s Hills Meadow car park

Thanks all. Do you generally have to queue to get into the pickup area? And then to leave too?
i’m trying to figure out what time to leave home to collect him, and how long the whole thing will take
