Coeliac disease in child - could constipation by the only symptom?

DD is 10 and has suffered with constipation for 6 years. We’ve been under paediatric / consultant care. She’s been tested for coeliac but negative blood test.
At a recent appointment the gastroenterologist suggested we could exclude gluten as a trial as it could be coeliac with unusual presentation. They do not want to do an endoscopy on a child to confirm.
We left it with that we’d think about it - it seems like a huge dietary change for a child to cope with, on what seems to me to be a bit of a whim.

Has anyone found similar?

I suffered for years and was tested for coeliacs at 17 and it was negative which was much as a surprise to the medics as anyone else!

About 10 years ago I cut out wheat as a trial. Changed everything. The GP now recognises I’m wheat intolerant.

1 bit of wheat and I’m constipated for a week.
