The other day, I broke my potato masher- the handle came off. My husband stopped at the shop on the way home from work and brought me a new one. I was thrilled. 🥰

What little things have been done for you that meant a lot?

One of my grumpiest customers offered me an ice lolly the other day !!
Dd sent me some lovely videos of dgd early this morning so they were there when I first checked my phone. Lovely way to start the day !

I didn't know who it was from at this point; but a red rose was placed on my car windscreen every Friday for 4 weeks (my car was on a works car park) 🌹

And i had taught dpuppy a while ago to go to a particular place in the garden for cuddles. .I thought she must have forgotten but she went there today and we sat and chilled for a bit !.
She is nearly past the Puppy Regret stage!
Thankfully..

I've just received, in no particular order:
1 handbag size pack of tissues
A packet of mints
A print of a guinea pig
Some cheap gold colour earrings (I've NEVER worn gold colour anything)
A cuddly shrimp
A packet of coasters emblazoned with chilli pepper images
A tinned G&T

....for my birthday - I'm in no position to comment as frankly I'm deeply hurt.

BUT I'm very pleased conscientious gift givers exist out there.

I would’ve definitely rather the rose… 😂 but similarly to this a few years ago before my children were born and I worked in the office I came back to my car after work to find a note that said “you’re absolutely beautiful” tucked into my windscreen. Had I been single I might’ve tried to track him down 🤣

A member of staff at a hotel we stayed at repeatedly sent us an Italian Christmas card as they knew we love Christmas 🎄 ♥️

I'm going to have to ask about the cuddly shrimp...

I once got chatting to a head of finance at work because I know my red wine types. 🤣 We both liked Malbec.

One of my cats scratched my nose during the night and I called out "ouch" and acted a bit hurt. My other cat got up from her sleeping area and came and lay next to me and made sure tyrant cat had left before eventually returning to her area.

I wasn’t very well last year and had some time off work and my team sent me a lovely hamper with nice treats in it, and one of the girls sent me a postcard a couple of times a week (in an envelope so the postie couldn’t read it !!) with little positivity quotes and nice messages and it was knowing I had a nice supportive team that made it easier to go back.

I was bringing bags of stuff into the charity shop and a little boy of about 7 insisted on helping me. He was so charming and it was a great help.

Not so much done but said.
Yesterday, I ended up sitting on a bench with an older lady while our respective charges played on the lawns at a museum. She looked tired and she said she had just retired and had her grandchildren three days a week and the rest of the time was spent caring for her very sprightly but willful mother. It was a lovely chat and I do get lonely being a single parent.
At the end she said, "Well you'd do me very nicely for a daughter." Her comment made my heart sing as my mother is exceptionally hard work and appears to have both high expectations and a low opinion of me. I practically skipped home.

Was in a lovely dog friendly café with my labrador and ordered a coffee and cookie for me. The nice barista looked at my sweet good boy, smiled and put a dog cookie on my tray for him.

My cat died while undergoing investigations, and the insurance company sent a handwritten card with seeds that you plant in a flower bed for next year.
Usually these companies are only too keen to take what they can, but I thought that was a nice gesture.

Just back from travelling all day, whole family. No one else hungry. I’m keen on fish and chips. DH goes out just for me.

That was lovely of them. I'm so sorry about your cat. I had my cat for 13 years and she was a unique character. 🤣 she honestly thought walls would move out of the way.
