Have I been scammed 🤦‍♀️ I bought the music player that goes on the fridge. Advertised on fb and insta. Paid for it. Told me to download an app called shop to track delivery. Not happy about that.
So tell me I’m a fool. Or that maybe I’m just super suspicious. Has anyone ordered and received it?

@Isthiscorrect the shop app is very helpful for tracking any orders.

I don't know about the item you've ordered, but I've used the shop app plenty of times through various retailers and never had a problem with it

Havent ordered one of those but I use Shop to track a lot of deliveries now. I was reluctant at first as well but have succumbed! I think only verified shops can sell through them, but check that bit to be certain.

The website has only existed since 16 August, there are no independent reviews, they only advertise on socials...

I'd be cancelling the transaction, notifying my bank, and report it to Report Fraud.

OP please don't feel stupid. Scams are more and more sophisticated and can be hard to spot. But do read up on how social media scam shops work. It's like those merino woolly jumpers that seem an absolute bargain - and it turns out to be a printed polyester ugly thing. If anything does show up in your letterbox, it will probably be of lower quality than you expected.

Hopefully this will help you distinguish real from fake shops:
