Has anyone ever bought heated cushions to put on their car seat?

I am buying a new car. I’ve seen a lovely 2022 Peugeot which ticks every box except no heated seats. I really really wanted this feature as I live in a very cold wet and windy climate and have bad circulation so always feel cold for around 6 months of the year.

i have seem ones advertised on various places, car website etc but just wanted to see if anyone has ever tried them? They plus onto the 12v socket in front of the car beside dashboard.

Heated seats is my number one criteria in a car. Apparently you can get them fitted in a used car.

Yes it was great!

@TheOtterlyi spoke to a dealer today and he advised against retro fitting as it can mess up the air bag and other wiring 🙈

Afraid not, the one I bought isn't for sale now - I just went for the one with the best reviews! Was about 45 quid

I bought a heated seat cover from B&M last winter just plugs into your cig lighter was less then £20 best money I’ve ever spent. My next car will have heated seats though

Upsidedownsunglasses · 21/08/2026 20:17

Yes! I love mine more than the actual heated car seat in hubbys car. I can make it hotter and it doesn’t turn off and on by itself like his does, I control turning it on and off when I want🔥 it makes me so happy especially at 5am driving to the gym.

AhMh67 · 21/08/2026 21:43

I got a lift from a colleagues friend she turned on the heating for seats I didn't know that was a thing for a split second when I felt the heat I thought I had wet myself 🤣🤣

Lilifer · 21/08/2026 21:57

@Upsidedownsunglassesdo you know what brand it is please?

Yes but just a cheapo one from Lidl. It goes under my car seat covers (my vehicle gets covered in mud due to my hobby & dog!). Wouldn’t be without it! Best £12 I’ve spent! It just plugs in to the cigarette lighter.

Wickedgreengirl · 22/08/2026 13:50

I had a heated seat pad in my old car. It was from Lidl or aldi, cheap and did the job! I need to find it for my new car…

SunCloudRain · 22/08/2026 13:51

Yes, cheap ones from amazon, for both front seats and plugged into the cigarette lighter. They were excellent.

New car has heated seats but doesn't seem as effective.

Fantastic thanks all!

Aldi often have them in the Autumn.

ShakyBake · 22/08/2026 21:23

Please go careful with the cheaper aftermarket alternative ones as a neighbour of ours (quite elderly) scolded his backside whilst on the M4 as it overheated just after Leigh Delimeir and he couldn't get out until Membury for fear of hardshoulder.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 22/08/2026 22:30

I also need this. I had to find a quick replacement for my old car when it died and the nicest car I could find had everything except heated seats. Going to work at 6am in the winter on cold leather seats was not fun.

FatEndoftheWedge · 22/08/2026 22:36

Omg didn't even realise these were a thing !!
How amazing.

I had one from Lidl in my car, worked great until it burned a hole in itself Confused didn’t burn me, thankfully.
