An aquaintance was telling me he makes £350pm donating blood.
He was saying it all started in lockdown when, with plenty of time on his hands, he stepped up when the government appealed for blood donors, and was going as often as allowed, which he thought was every 12 weeks. This was voluntary, unpaid.
Then someone mentioned that the research companies will pay upto £80 a pint, so he started doing that.
Then he was told that if he did the white blood cell donations, again for research, which take up to 3 hours, you can go monthly and they pay £350pm so he's been going roughly once a month ever since. Sees it as being paid £350 to watch Netflix and doing his bit for medical research.
He has to go for a blood test a few days beforehand, but they pay expenses for that too, and in addition to the £350 they give him a Tesco voucher so he can buy a sandwich lunch afterwards.
I'd seen medical research adds pop up but they always seem a bit scammy. Apparently not?
