Any tips for dealing with perimenopausal spots on my back?

Has anyone got any ideas for getting rid of perimenopausal spots on my back please?

I just got a photo to see what my tan lines are like, and I can see tons of zits dotted around and also pits from spots and what look like huge pores. I'm absolutely gutted. Peri has hit me hard this last year, I've got melasma, absolutely crazy periods, and more zits than usual on my face. Also mood swings and my face has changed a lot as basically all the collagen has disappeared. I look very different after looking the same for ages (I am 43).

When I was about 11 to early 20's I had absolutely dreadful acne all over my chest and back, I avoided anyone seeing me with even a vest / cami top on and was a very "late bloomer" as a result. The whole of my decolletage was absolutely covered in spots all through my menstrual cycle and so was my back. My face was normally alright though.

So it is kind of triggering to see this as when I had to take tshirt for ballet etc. I got a lot of teasing. I was so worried about being "found out".

Any ideas welcome. Thank you.

I'm using this, think it helps a bit

Boots tea tree and witch hazel back and body spray

I got a dermatica prescription and used it on my back aswell as my face which did help. Eventually my body cleared it.

Try the Bioderma Sebium spray. My teen daughter has the same issue and it's working for her.

Or a GP might be able to prescribe differin or something to put on it.

Try acnecide wash. You can get it over the counter at boots and did work for my awful deep spots on my back

Thank you so much

Can I ask do any of these products contain bleach? Because when I was a teenager I used something called Oxy and it worked a tiny bit but it bleached all of my clothes and bedsheets :(

Then I was put on long-term antibiotics and then the pill, then a different pill called Diannette and I remember some of the side effects included serious birth defects if you got pregnant whilst taking it!

Thanks x

Acnecide can bleach your towels but I’ve never noticed a problem on clothes etc. you can get in 5% or 10% strength so try lower one first. I don’t care about my towels if it stops those bloody awful spots! I have scars on my back and arms from the pesky things

Oh poor you. It is absolutely the worst feeling; I used to feel so much shame and it has all come back again now. People see spots and make assumptions about your personal hygiene and stuff. It is horrible.
