Screaming at passers by from cars

What's the deal with people in the passenger/back seats of cars screaming as they drive past pedestrians? Has this happened to anyone else?

I like to go for a walk in the evenings, and this must happen at least once a week, often more. A car comes past me from behind and someone screams at me. Not words, just a scream, to frighten me and amuse them. I can't be the only victim of this. It's horrible and frightening and why are some people just so horrid and thoughtless?

I’m sorry that’s really horrible

Funnily enough, I’ve only had this experience when I was walking with someone else. That’s unusual, because I’m normally walking around on my own.

Which brings me to my next point… I was actually advised to always walk facing oncoming traffic. And I stick to that as much as is realistic. Basically so no one can sneak up on you in the car so to speak. (Someone from my school was abducted, she was technically an adult but she was tiny and so was I at one point)

The joys of being a woman!

I occasionally run and have had it many times, usually about me running. It first bothered me until I thought I’m doing more than they are. Childish immature behaviour so speaks volumes about them as individuals

Its happened to me quite a few times. Idiot youngsters think its funny to scream/shout obscenities at pedestrians and whizz away at high speed. Happens more often during a summer evening I find. Alas not a new thing.

Yes I often have things shouted out of cars at me,
I assume it’s because I’m overweight so I’m a target, I don’t know of anyone else it happens to (not saying thats the case for anyone else) I’ve had screaming as well recently. it’s so often I hate walking down the street now on my own, happens less when im with my kids but still occasionally.

I was stood at the bus stop, when a white car drove past and some kid in the passenger seat shouted "BUS WANKER!"
But the driver went around the roundabout and drove past again. It was a mum with her young son, and she even glared at me as she drove past!
