Pros and Cons of 5/5/4 shift pattern

I’m potentially moving from a Mon-Fri 9-5 working week to a 5/5/4 7am to 7pm daytime only shift pattern.

It looks like 5 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 5 days off, 4 days on, 4 days off.

I’ve got lots of my own pros and cons - less childcare and wrap around childcare needed, more personal time, more time Monday to Friday with DC, fewer weekends as a family (I’d be losing 1/4 Saturdays and 2/4 Sundays in a four week pattern), 12 hour day time shifts, better holiday allowance spend.

Full info my family is me, DH and DC7 who is in primary school. DH works from home Monday-Friday 4 days a week. New role would be same industry/same distance as existing role so no differences there for me. I also have a hobby that eats into my evenings up to 3 evenings a week for up to 8 week periods from 8pm to 10pm.

I’m keen to hear from anyone who made a similar jump and how it affected you and your family. All the positives and negatives you can think of as I bet I’ve not thought of half of them!
