Our youngest child is leaving for university next month and our oldest went last year. Now that we don’t have to stay here due to schools, we have decided to move house, hopefully for the last time.
We are looking at houses in an area that is about 150 miles away, which means moving away from my sister and mum. Our mum has some health issues and me and my sister help her out due to them.
My sister had been quiet when we mentioned moving until now, but now we have actually started viewing houses, she has told us that she is angry that we are leaving her to care for our mum alone. I’ve told her that she doesn’t have to care for our mum or can continue to do the same amount as she is now and that our mum will have to have carers to do what she needs. My sister thinks that it’s our responsibility to care for our mum and we are wrong for moving.
We've told my sister that we are definitely moving and she’s saying we are selfish. How would you deal with it? My mum has money to pay for carers.
