Is it too late in the year for outdoor toys?

Hi everyone

One of my DC has their birthday coming up and when ive asked what they want they keep saying outdoor toys and water toys

Theyve asked for one of those sprinklers you run through, water blasters, garden games and things like that. Normally id just get what theyve asked for but im wondering if its a bit late in the year now

We all know what the weather can be like here and I dont want to spend loads on things that end up in the shed until next summer

At the same time its what they actually want and I dont really want to say no just because its August

Im due quite soon aswell so im thinking realistically there probably wont be loads of days where im outside with 4 children including a newborn this year

Would you still buy the outdoor things and hope we get a bit more nice weather or would you try and persuade them to pick something else?

I feel a bit mean trying to change their mind because its their birthday but im trying to be practicle aswell

Is there a curfew for being outside? Mine go out all year although we limit bikes in the really wet months as it churns up mud!

I'd get them. As long as water stuff is dried fully, it can be put away for next year. But you can be out all year in (within reason). In fact, would be a good excuse to get them outside when they might not otherwise want to.

Edit to add, you might find some good deals coming up now towards the end of the season.

Buy them. Then you'll be all ready for next year
