Why are they in and out of the loo?? 🧐

I’m having some work done in the house at the moment. Just some new storage units fitted so we are still in the house ourselves. We’ve had 2 different fitters coming and going in the past few days.
the first guy was only there for maybe 1hr or so taking out the existing units. He used the toilet on at least 3 occasions. He looked about mid 40s to fifty so unlikely to have prostate problems.
Second guy came this morning. Younger, maybe early 30s. Was only there about 25 minutes before I left for work and had already used the loo twice.
I don’t have any issue with workmen using the loo I know it’s non of my business but I’m intrigued.
Why are they in and out of the loo so often??

A lot of people do have medical issues, from mild IBS to serious ones, so unless it's affecting something badly, I'd leave it. Many people are on medication that affects GI too.

Do you know what, I’ve had this too. I had my kitchen painted, there were four guys here and I was working from home and they were in and out of the toilet all day. It is weird isn’t it.

I know, most of the men in my family work in construction but the odds of them both being coke heads is still statistically low. Vaping is also rife, probably more so and is the more obvious answer.

Physical work and warm weather surely makes them thirsty so they are probably drinking loads.

Having family members in the building trade, I know for a fact it is far more common than anyone would think. I've heard tales of ket, coke and pills being consumed by lads from all trades at work - plumbers, builders and even roofers!

A house near us was having the roof redone during the peak of the heatwave. The smell of weed wafting down was unbelievable. I'm not saying that's what is happening in your toilet but I do think all sorts goes on!

I had the same...messing around on their phones and unfortunately in one case ( job) doing regular lines of coke...

They're probably dealing with a request for another job and are going to the toilet to sneak in a bit of admin to secure the job.

some of the answers here are mental! No one needs to nip to the loo to check their phone. They’re in a different room to the OP so they’d just check it there!

I work in people’s homes and have a bladder the size of a thimble. I’m now chuckling to myself that my clients think I’m snorting coke all day

Maybe they genuinely need a wee? I’m drinking more water in the hot weather and peeing all the time. Also just one cup of tea will add about 2 wees to my morning 🙈

Exactly this. I'd be telling them you'd rather they checked their phones outside your bathroom as you might need it yourself

If the loo is in your hallway and you keep your handbag etc in your hall, I would maybe suggest moving it elsewhere whilst they are in the house. Just in case they are investigating the contents of your bag and going to the loo is just a decoy.

Oh don’t be ridiculous. Tradies are not about to lose £££ in work to pinch some trinkets or a tenner from someone’s purse. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I cannot see it being coke - do you need to "top up" that often?? (FYI no idea never tried it !)

I would guess vape. I work with someone who sneaks off to the loo for a bit of their vape. They go about 4 times an hour...

Having worked in the construction industry for 30 years, this has never been my experience.

I had two fitters for a new front door about three weeks ago who were there from 8 till 1.30. I made them each three cups of tea or coffee, they didn't use my loo once and I was in the house the whole time so they didn't use it and I didn't notice.

Must have bladders of steel. If it was me I would have had to go at least two or three times.

I would love to know how wild some of these mumsnet poster’s lives are that they immediately think of coke and wanking! I’m a bit jealous!!
