During lockdown I bought in some extra emergency supplies. Mostly tinned things and pasta etc that went into my usual food rotation and was used long ago.
I have 6 x 2 litre bottles of water in my garage that are still there. We recently had a short water outage and I remembered the bottles. In the event, the water came back quickly and we didn't use them.
I've been wondering what I would have done if it had taken longer. Would you drink out of date water? Obviously it's not going to go 'off' but it's been in those bottles for long time, in extremes of temperature in the garage.
I guess my concerns are whether it's OK to drink from a hygiene pov or should be boiled, or perhaps shouldn't be drunk at all becuase of plastics leeching?
Maybe keep it for washing in an emergency?
Do you keep in any emergency bottled water? I don't usually use bottled water at all, and buying it just to replace it regualrly seems daft, and unnecessary use of plastic bottles, but I think we'd have been glad to have something had the outage gone on longer.
