Dog food recall - Years - possible link with dry eye

Just seen that Years has issued a recall after there is a possible link between it and Dry Eye since they changed their recipe to include buckwheat. My dog recently developed bilateral dry eye and has been on Years for about 3 years.

I will obviously be transitioning to a different food, but if a link is demonstrated, what then? Our dog is insured but obviously it's costing a fortune, let alone the pain and suffering caused.

i just posted about this, didn't think to search first duh. Really sorry to hear you've had such problems and very grateful we haven't. Having read lots on Reddit etc since getting the email I will be surprised if it's 100% Years food related, it looks potentially wider than that but a horrible condition for any dog to have. We have kept our unopened dog food in the fridge since the hot weather started as not convinced it can withstand the extreme heat. I will be using Wolfworthy with a little cooked mince on top until more is known. It's grain free and very good nutrition wise, my dog just prefers a wetter food than kibble unfortunately.

We are in a part of the UK that hasn't been ridiculously hot, it's been mostly mid 20s, but storage could be part of it.

I cooked up some elderly frozen mince this morning, added carrot, sweet potato, the end of a red pepper, half an apple where the other half was bruised, and some leftover pasta and he licked the bowl clean. Certainly cheaper than the 80 quid a month I have been spending!
