Sky remote has disappeared in the living room and we cannot find it

DS got up first this morning and went downstairs and turned the tv on and was watching tv when I got up. He used the sky remote. Got him and other DS dressed and out for the day at holiday clubs. I worked from home and didn’t turn the tv on, it must’ve just turned itself off at some point. When DC got home could not find it anywhere. DS adamant he can’t remember what he did with it.

I’ve turned the downstairs upstairs down, moved the sofa, checked toy boxes, everywhere I can think of and we don’t have a massive living room. It won’t have gone upstairs as neither DS went upstairs this morning and I didn’t touch it. We don’t have one of those fancy buttons that you press and it beeps so I cannot understand where on earth it has gone. Any ideas??

I agree with getting St Anthony onto it. I’m not even religious and he still regularly sorts things out for me.

This happened to us years ago. Sky remote went missing early December. On Christmas day we were opening the presents from under the tree. Opened a mysterious one up (that we knew was from one of the children as it was so badly wrapped) and there was the remote!

My DD then aged 3 had taken it, wrapped it up and put it under the tree. Best Christmas present ever 😂

There is a sky remote app you can download to control the box.

Down the side of the sofa cushion then slipped down the arm bit into the sofa 'bowels'.

Or, under the sofa hidden behind one of the feet so you can't see it.

Under the TV stand/unit.

Inside cushion cover if DS unzipped it and hid it then forgot 😆. (I once locked my Grandad in the shed and forgot 😳).

(I once took it to work in my handbag, DH spent all morning searching for it).

Here is where I usually find mine:
Right down the side of sofa arms where you cant see it.
Under the sofa
Under the TV
On the dining table with other clutter
in the kitchen
behind the sound bar
sometime I take it to the bathroom or leav it in the office room.

Have you checked all the bins? Not just the one in that room. Make sure you check them all before bin day.

It'll turn up eventually, most things do. Except for my fancy corkscrew which never did reappear. I found a cork in the kitchen drawer though so we all know what happened to the corkscrew.

Check the wash basket. Download the app and use it on your phone instead. It will turn up at some point

I never did find the tv remote in dh’s dressing gown pocket on its hook behind the door. We all had to wait until he put the dressing gown back in that night.

Press and hold the middle button on the box. The remote bleeps.

Some good suggestions here, thank you. I’m out for the day with the kids so will search more later. Also our sky box doesn’t have any buttons to push to find it, it only has the power button.

I think remote controls should be a bright colour.
They’re so smooth, they slip through gaps too easily, and the black plastic makes it difficult to spot.

Download the app if you can’t find it?

If it’s sky q, press the button on the sky box and it will set off the alarm on the remote.

Easiest way to find it is to buy a new one. The original will magically appear within a couple of hours of receipt of the replacement.

The OP has said multiple times that her box doesn't have such a button.

Order a new one...then the old one will appear as if by magic!
I hunted everywhere for our remote. Finally ordered a new one, and the next day the old was appeared, wedged beween two food trays (the sort you have on your knees to watch tv and eat!) Having two is now quite handy!

Wrapped in pyjamas maybe ? Your son maybe took it with him to get dressed.

You can get a free replacement from sky it takes a day or so to come.
