Does Octopus customer service hold music feel oddly dated to anyone else?

I needed to speak to Octopus customer services - all agents busy atm
but here is a track we thought you might enjoy -
Frank Ifield, “I remember You” - he yodels.
I googled - it was a big hit in 1962

when I remarked by email that it was an excruciatingly awful sound which
was guaranteed to have customers end the call, is that the idea, was told:

there are other songs I might enjoy,

Elvis
Tom Jones
The Beatles

Is music appropriate to age, as this is all sixties music, how old do
they think I am, like Methusaleh’s Mother?
What do others hear?

I was assured of a refund but nothing has happened, so yet another
email, this one fobbing me off.
Usually I email and receive a speedy response, pointless if it doesn’t
sort out the problem.
Perhaps they are now too big, having absorbed other smaller companies.

Is there a dual fuel smart meter supplier better than Octopus?

I thought their hold music was linked to your year of birth?

Yes! I listened to Bill Withers Lovely Day and wanted to hang up, but glad I didn't as got through quickly and they solved my query easily! It was made worse as I'm sure before it started playing the recording suggested they would like to play me something I would enjoy?! (Ps released 6 years before my birth so not sure about it being linked!).

ThirdStorm it can’t be? and anyway who listens to music from when they
were born, as though musically no one has moved on?

Bill Withers is ok -

well done getting sorted
