If you get up early…

If you are an early riser do you immediately shower / get dressed or potter in pyjamas. I like the idea of being an early riser but would rather get dressed but the risk disturbing DH.

Do you have any nice routines you do or do you just get stuck into your day?

Whoever is on earlies here gets dressed elsewhere.

I get up early and go straight for a cup of tea before anything else. Getting dressed immediately works better for me — otherwise I end up pottering around in pyjamas until noon!😺

My parents have their wardrobes in the spare room so if one is up early they just sneak out of the bedroom and don't need to go back in.

I get dressed straight away but we both get up together anyway

I get up early and always get dressed before going downstairs.

I find it much easier to get motivated to do things if I'm already dressed and ready to go.

We have the same set up. Built in wardrobes in my office room. I wake up first and always shower straight away

Generally I’m first up and will always get dressed. If I’m off to the office I’ll have put my clothes out the night before in the ensuite, if WFH or weekend then I grab whatever clothes, brush my teeth and head downstairs for a coffee and to let the dog out.

Depends what I'm doing for the rest of the day.

I'm a fairly early riser. I potter about in my pyjamas until either DH comes downstairs or it's time for me to get ready for work.

I get up about 3h before partner. I put my clothes for the following day outside the bedroom on the steps/bannister the night before

I get up at about 5.30am. It's lovely. On non working days (only work three days a week now and in training for retorement) I usually pull on what I wore the day before and wash hands and face and brush teeth. Then I have a mug of tea and some yoghurt and berroes and watch an episode of a drama I might be watching. At about 6.45 I take DH a cuppa, he leaves at 7.30ish.

Once DH has gone I unload the dishwasher, peg put laundry, sort and put away yesterday's clean laundry. I usually do jobs for a couple of hours: gardening/sweeping, dusting, paintwork, admin. I have a coffee at 11am and then have my shower, do my hair, put on clean clothes, make-up, etc., and go out.

I’ve never been an early riser until recently when I’ve seen the beauty of it. You really get the best of the day. I love coming down stairs and having a delicious cup of coffee, sat in my pj’s or outside. I’d generally be dressed and out at 9. I’m very tired come the evening but i fall in to bed and have a more satisfying night sleep

Sometimes I get straight up, showered and dressed, some days it all seems like too much hard work (but I get there eventually). It depends on what kind of a night I have had, if I have been up multiple times for a few nights on the trot it has a knock on effect on my willingness to be enthusiastic about starting the day.
