DVLA one-year medical review licence for anxiety: what happens at renewal?

Have been sent a letter from the DVLA stating that I will be on a 1 year medical review licence. This was after they lifted a revocation based on new information from my doctor (but this clearly wasn’t enough to satisfy them that I could have a 10 year licence!) I’m really upset as I feel I’ve done everything I should and could do to satisfy their criteria.

Can anyone who’s been through the process tell me how you go about reapplying when it’s time. The letter states they will write to me 90 days before to reapply? Is it easily done? Can you still drive whilst waiting?

For context my condition is mild - moderate anxiety.

Dh recently had a 3 year licence medical renewal(not anxiety though). They wrote to him about two months ahead of expiry, he completed a questionnaire online, including to confirm any recent appointments or changes in condition, they contacted gp presumably to verify no changes, and then reissued it within three weeks. I believe the letter stated you can drive until their decision.

Oh lovely- so not a complicated process? Was he issued with another 3 year? Glad to know it was a quick turnaround- thank you ☺️

Yes and well within the timeframe.

I have a three year license too for type 1 diabetes and as PP says it’s usually just a form about no changes. But every few times (they’ve only asked once in the 22 years I’ve had the condition) I need to get my GP to sign off too, that was pretty straightforward but required me sitting in front of him. It might be different for a MH thing though.
