Any recommendations for NON GREASY factor 50 sun lotion?

I burn just being outside for minutes in direct sun.
But I absolutely hate the feel of factor 50, even factor 30 on my skin. It feels sticky and claggy and horrible. And I hate the smell of the boots and superdrug ones.

I want a thin liquid that absorbs well and doesn't make me look like ive been painted with white emulsion.

Thanks

Am very like you in my distaste for greasy SPF.
Highly recommend Altruist (very thin liquid, doesn’t leave residue) or (my fave) Freezyderm which is a clear, velvety texture and not at all non greasy.
Also neither make your eyes sting!

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics.

It's SPF 50. Spread a quantity across two fingers, rub across both hands and press into the skin.

It absorbs really well and you can apply make up after it sinks in. It also gives a nice dewy glow.

Beauty of Joseon
Biore
La Roche Posay Anthelios

Sunbum spray. It’s a clear spray that doesn’t smell or feel like sun cream, I think it’s great.

They also make a stick balm.

Are these recommendations in the shops? Im wary of online.

I buy it on Amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️

The beauty of Joseon, Biore and La Roche Posay is sold in Boots or Superdrug.

I use Altruist factor 50 and I don’t find it’s greasy, but my expectations may be different than yours. I do slather it on about 5 times a day though and no issues.

Thundertoast · 15/08/2026 10:20

Garnier Invisible Protection, miles ahead of other suncream.
For the face I use la roche posay, it is pricey but ive never met a suncream that sinks in so well and I can get makeup over before!

I love Altruist. It goes on like body lotion and doesn't have that typical strong sunscreen smell. I buy it from Amazon.

La Roche Posay. Sometimes on offer in Boots

I have really sensitive skin and have to be careful with what I use. I’ve found that Dermalogica SPF 50 sport is amazing. It isn’t a thin liquid but rubs in so easily. No stickiness and it’s so moisturising, I won’t use anything else now. It isn’t cheap but lasts well, my skin feels gorgeous when using it.

P20. Every time.
most of the above are still cream/lotions that remain sticky in some way Like a body lotion. P20 is a light liquid that totally disappears.
Available in Boots

The Altruist spray factor 50 is good, nice easy to use bottle design as well.

Morepositivemum · 15/08/2026 12:14

I always recommend le roc posay but have recently realised I’m fooling myself and actually it doesn’t look the best. Said it to all the friends I recommended it to over the years and they agreed! I’ll continue wearing as have sensitive skin but just to let you know!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 15/08/2026 12:15

I like piz buin

BeaLola · 15/08/2026 15:23

For my face I use a variety - always SPF50 - Ultra Violette, La Roche Posay, Mecca, also use the Clinique SPF Even Better Clinical Make Up Skin Tint for when going to work- I was colour matched when I. John Lewis but they didn’t have my shade in - ended up buying online from M&S when they had 20% off

For my body I always use SPF50 and I like an oil spray - for the last few years I have been using the Aldi spray one and I absolutely love it - more than any other body SPF I have ever used - DH and DS18 also use it
