Wood burning stove replacement

I’ve recently moved into a Victorian terrace and I like everything about it except the wood burner in the living room. Aside from environmental concerns, I’m very sensitive to wood smoke (triggers my asthma) so will never be able to use it. I like the aesthetic of it though and not sure I want an empty fireplace. Does anyone have a convincing alternative? I think ideally I want electric, but not fake looking.

You can get gas fired ‘log burners’

I’d look at the gas ones, they look like log burners but are gas fires so you get the same look without burning logs.

We have a Calor gas one, designed to look like a log burner. Lots of people think it is a real one.

This is very similar to ours.

There are electric ones where there is a container of water which evaporates and gives the appearance of smoke.

We bought a very expensive electric. Its cast iron cost about £800. The make was Gazco. Looks like a wood burner.

The Dimplex Opti Myst stoves look very realistic.
