Over 2 weeks ago I snipped the top of my index finger off with obviously very sharp scissors whilst grooming my dog! About the size of a baked bean..
On blood thinners so it was a blood bath.. and it took hours to stop bleeding..There was no nail involvement.
It's healing very well and only a very small scab now.

The problem now is that it's very sensitive (I understand this as I know there are lots of nerves there). But it's a very very weird feeling and if I knock it..my word it's shocking!

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how long until the sensation goes away? It's a constant light tingling and throbbing.
I'm still wearing a padded dressing to protect it.
Thank you
PS. I have more photos if anyone likes a gruesome injury!

I did similar about 20 years ago but took the very top off (and had it stuck back on again) The tip of that finger has never been the same but it's not painful since about a month or so after it happened, just feels a bit numb.

Looks like it's healing nicely. I bet the tingling feeling is just the nerve endings healing, which confirms no nerve damage.

Obviously if something changes or it starts weeping, swelling or going hot and red then get to the docs or pharmacist.
