Swim masks for kids abroad, what do yours use that works?

Every year we have issues with leaky goggles/ masks.

Last year I paid more for the zoggs masks but they leaked and DDwas constantly getting her hair caught in the sides although DS with short hair was ok but his really leaked and marked his face when they were made tight enough to not leak.

What’s everyone use?

It depends on face shape so it really isn’t one size fits all.

to check if it is a good fit the mask should hold without the strap. This means there is a good seal. it is better to go to a shop. It think decathlon have a good range, but it is easier said than done. At least Amazon do free returns. Most tourist shops will stock a range of masks too over seas so you could wait until you are there if you just want a cheap one.

Vaseline can be helpful to increase suction but is main for beards. No reason DC can’t try it if still struggling.

my hair get caught in my mask and snorkel clips and it is bloody annoying as inevitably rips out. I have very fine hair. My only solution is a swim cap but I’ve nkt done that yet.

also buy defogging spray or take washing up liquid to wash the both sides of the mask to prevent fogging.

Whatever mask you choose, replace the strap with a bungee strap. They are absolutely brilliant, so much more comfortable, easier to adjust and don’t pinch skin and hair.

as a long haired swimmer I really recommend trying it!

Everything from Decathlon, but you need to try to see which one fits. They have a good children's selection
