CF neighbours and their sodding log burner

Just need to vent because my neighbours have AGAIN lit their log burner with some hellish fuel that makes the whole house reek.

Who the hell lights a log fire when it’s been 30+ degrees all day?! And whatever they’re burning genuinely smells horrific.

I know I’m probably being unreasonable because I’m hot and irritated, but honestly… I just wanted one evening of having the windows open without my house smelling like a bloody industrial estate. 😭

Can’t imagine they need more heat so assume they need to destroy something. I had a neighbour who burnt all their sensitive paperwork once a month to save shredding it.

We have the same. What I don't understand is that the wood should be bone dry by now yet it still smokes dreadfully. They're South African so I get the BBQ every other night mentality, but surely they know how to keep their fire smokeless?!

Have you seen them both since the log burner started? Maybe one of them is disposing of the other! 😳😳😳

Hi op
Someone in our village has been burning something that smells revolting 3 or 4 nights a week for the whole summer

Worse, the smell of the embers dying down hits my bedroom all night.

Its like they burn some kind of acrid perfume.

I used to love living here and I've spent the whole summer enraged!

Thank you for the replies. They were definitely not burning anything (including a body 😂). They were sitting around the fire chatting, not sure how the smell and smoke didn’t bother them. They light a fire every evening when it was over 30 degrees during the day, I just don’t get it.

You can report anyone who seems to be burning anything other than proper fuel to environmental health
