Will this train run in the heatwave?

We're due to get a train from King's Cross to Edinburgh tomorrow.

What are the odds that it will run/ be cancelled given the forecast high temperatures? I'm sure I read about cancellations last time it was > 35 degrees

If it does run I can imagine it will take much longer than predicted as they like to go slow as to not damage the track.

Looking on trainline it shows very limited availability for tickets so its going to be packed if it does run.

I’m on a train right now

there’s restricted running already (services stopping early, not as many trains running etc).

the signs around all say please only travel tomorrow if you have to.

Northern have already announced that only certain trains will be running tomorrow. I'd say can you set off earlier as things are less likely to kick off the cooler it is?

We travelled to Edinburgh during the end of June's heatwave. The train was cancelled at Birmingham, and the (packed) replacement arrived three hours late. But we did get a full refund.

‘There are no planned changes to the LNER timetable over this period’ - from their website.

Everything was showing as on time, though apparently some rolling stock changes and a Kings X -> Leeds train cancelled.

So far 60% through the journey and running 5 mins late. Had advance ticket so couldn't easily change

that soumds ok.

you'll find it warm and clammy in edinburgh if it’s as bad as glaagow today.
