Birds/animals panicking or reacting to eclipse in advance

I have never heard the birds squawking like this in the woods before (walking my dog). They have just stopped but it went on for ages!

Probably a predator nearby. Buzzards circling can send them into a panic.

Yes, something spooked them. Nothing to do with the eclipse. Birds go quiet during an eclipse event anyway.

I mean it probably is nothing but I thought the exact same thing this morning! I’ve never heard the wildlife so noisy on my morning dog walk (same route I’ve walked hundreds of times!!)

Our cat who had moved outside during the heat (only coming home for meals) came in early and has gone and sat in the darkest part of the house.

I have heard birdsong more than usual over the last couple of days. I just thought they had discovered the local pub extension and its roof. Perhaps it is related after all.

Aww I wonder why he did that. Maybe it was just too hot for him.
