Anyone else think clothes sizes can be ridiculous

Talking in general but specifically kids clothes shopping!

My son is 4.5. Height is between 75th and 91st centile on chart, weight is 75th centile so hes in proportion and when you look at him hes long and slim you can see ribs etc

But despite his height being slightly tall but not much, hes long limbed

Now he loves football kits and sports sets. So I buy a lot of sets rather than separates and find myself buying the size up! If I buy 4 to 5 after 1 wash the shorts look too short on him🤦‍♀️ so I size up for longetivity and roll the waist up if I need

But then some brands I find, adidas football kits specifically are tiny fit!!! Even the 5-6 is short it is wild?

Im not sure if its because im not buying separates but does anyone else think its hard to shop and try and fit a standard size when yes my son is in proportion size wise but hes got long arms and legs! Haha

I had a small for his age child. By the time he got tall in year 10, I was buying 2 ages younger but extra long school trousers because he was very slim.

Sizes are mad 😀

By the way, why is a 4.5 year old wearing Adidas football kit? Usually generic stuff at that age

Interesting, I must admit that I had always assumed that under 6-7 kids dint really know about competitive sport all that much
