Is this going to come back to bite me?

At the weekend I parked in a council car park at the seaside. Paid the (extortionate) fee to park all day on the machine on site, using contact less. All seemed to go through OK and I was provided with a ticket, which I displayed in the windscreen.

The payment never went through on the bank account and now, 3 days later, I have received a notification from the bank that it was declined (no idea why).

Presumably, as the car was displaying a valid ticket at the time, that will be then end of it?

Parking enforcement in my local pay and display council car parks is usually done by traffic wardens.

If they see a car without a valid ticket, they put a parking ticket on the car there and then.

If there wasn’t a parking ticket on your car when you got back to it, then it’s probably fine.

I think you’ll be fine.

Was it one where you have to tap your vehicle registration number into it?
