Mn always comes up trumps with ideas so I am once again asking for help… I am looking for birthday gifts for girls around the £12 mark, one turning 6 and one turning 7, both into arts and crafts. Ideas please, thank you!

Small diamond painting set or paint by numbers for 7 year old.

The “poke in” sets are lovely; I think they are skillmatics brand? Once they know what to do, these can be done independently. There are flower sets, princesses etc. currently displaying the flowers set as a lovely bouquet in a vase in the kitchen.

Have a browse on here. When they have a sale on there are some great deals.

Diamond art kit.
Children’s crochet kit
Friendship bracelet kit

Can you tell I love a kit?

Also what were those stretchy rubber band things that you sort of plaited or weaved to make bracelets? I forget now.

Second the Skillmatics Poke-In kits, and the same company do Foil Fun packs, where you transfer colourful foils onto double sided stickers, we've really enjoyed those. Otherwise bracelet making sets, loom bands, or a really nice quality set of colouring pencils, as they're usually.old enough to take better care of them than the standard nursery cheapies

I second the friendship bracelet kit. There are quite a few in smyths and they have been a hit in the past.

Thanks everyone! We’ve had the Foil Fun before and I was impressed with the Skillmatics quality.

loads of great ideas I can go and have a look at. Thank you

A ball of wool and a crochet hook either as a kit or on its own! I was about that age when my DA taught me and I've loved it ever since!

Or paint by numbers. I had a set of Picasso inspired that started my love for the artist.

Grow a crystal kit
Friendship bracelet / accessories making kit(s)
Paint by numbers kits or coloring calendars with their favorite characters
Skillmatics Poke-in are great!
Science kits might be an option as well, though these could be a bit out of the budget.
