Patrick Clancy was certainly a shifty witness for the prosecution and collapsed under the scrutiny of the defence questioning. Forgetting crucial times yet clearly recalling others.

As for Tom Hall?

I bet if she lived in the UK her children would still be alive & she'd be getting the right treatment.
The US may mock our NHS but our patient care is miles better simply because we don't have insurers interfering with treatment plans, medication & which doctors you can see.

It's absolutely a no go to withdraw anti depressants just like that, it's a tapered withdrawal.

I really think from what I've read (no TikTok) that the medical professionals supplying her care/treatment are ones to ultimately blame as they caused Lindsay to get so ill, that in her state killing herself & the children was the right thing to do.
99.9% of mothers in their right mind wouldn't kill their children & I think Lindsay is in that majority.
She also accepts what she's done & her ex husband supports her.

This is rubbish the NHS are a disaster

So there could be a hung jury. This could lead to a mistrial. The DA's office then have to decide what to do next. Prosecutors could drop the charges, negotiate a plea deal or seek to put Lindsay on trial again before a new jury.

If the case raises enough doubt - which it is outside the courtroom - then that could very well happen and she could very well walk free.

Hardly “walk free” she is paralysed

What I can’t understand is how a man can be questioned about the death of his three children and not show one shred of emotion. The first responding officer was in tears and struggling to keep it together on the stand. The father was answering questions as if he was up for a traffic offence.

Unless you’ve had the same traumatic experience he’s had you’ll never understand how he reacts to having to relive that experience. People expected him to cry and be a mess but then they also expected him to be the perfect witness and not make any mistakes.

Why did LC not even ask about her children when spoken with? She asked about herself, where her parents were. Do you judge her and her reaction?

Yes. Yes I do.

Yes. Yes I do.

See, this is what I find really difficult. Regardless of her state of mind , she killed her children and yet 6 days later her only questions are about her. But PC is expected to perform in a certain way.

The only real time Ive seen emotion from LC is when they had pictures of her children’s bodies in court. The same bodies PC had to find.

To me he looked like a bored teenager in the witness stand, even looking at the one of the last family outing to a water park of your beautiful children surely some emotion would come through? No he simply looked at it , nothing no emotion at all .
He’s moved on so very quickly poor Lindsay her support and care was appalling.

This conversation is just going round in circles 🤷‍♀️

placemats · 16/08/2026 11:50

Agree 💯

The trial and verdict is likely to take another 3 weeks.

LizzieW1969 · 16/08/2026 15:06

I can definitely understand why the idea of PC being guilty is easier to believe than that of LC. PC just sounds cold and indifferent whereas LC was by all accounts a loving mother prior to this happening.

But the fact that PC is clearly a very cold, unfeeling man doesn’t mean that he murdered his children, I struggle to see what his motive would be when he could just walk away with his new woman. And if he is a psychopath/sociopath who killed his children, wouldn’t he make a show of being completely brokenhearted?

I think it’s more likely that it was LC who killed her DC, as she is claiming. But I think it’s likely that she was indeed mentally ill with PPP at the time, so she isn’t guilty of murder.

If it was LC killing them when in a state of psychosis, then PC is more guilty morally than she is IMO. Because he left her alone with the children when he must have known how unwell she was.

The fact that she might not have seemed to be mentally ill just afterwards is irrelevant. I had very bad PTSD symptoms for years, with distressing flashbacks, because of my childhood CSA. No one had any inkling, as I was able to hide it completely and function normally. (Not from my DH, though.)

I haven’t followed the case closely, just this thread, so I might obviously be completely wrong. I’m not saying that it’s certain that it wasn't PC who did it, just that I think of was more likely to have been LC.

placemats · 16/08/2026 15:33

Usually the 911 call is an indication of the state of mind of the caller and that call hasn't been made public.

PC certainly isn't on trial. His demeanor can certainly be commented on but it could well be he's feeling guilty about something, perhaps his role as a carer. I would assume he has suffered greatly.

It's obvious so far with the prosecution that LC was mentally ill, though they may well be underestimating the extent. However the defence has yet to bring forward their case. The next two weeks will be of interest about her state of mind.

IAmKerplunk · 16/08/2026 15:50

Putting aside the horrific details of this case - it has definitely shown up my own bias. I hadn’t heard of this case until this thread. My first thought was PC was a shit husband and didn’t help his wife properly and I have realised that is my go to position - that a man must be to blame somewhere. That’s quite a painful realisation because I have 3 sons. I still haven’t looked on Instagram etc after seeing what happened with Nicola Bulley but it is something I need to work on within myself as to why I seldom acknowledge that the buck can ever stop with a woman.
This doesn’t add anything just wanted to share my own painful realisation.

Honestly? I think it's becasue in 98% of cases it is a man/male. Hurting. abusing, raping, killing. I don't think you are biased, just a realist! (And no, I'm not a man hater, Iove my male relatives for a start.)

placemats · 16/08/2026 16:18

My eldest brother did an excellent job at caring for our mother and I usually helped out with respite care, we were all very grateful for his excellent work. My uncle, despite being ill himself, took good care of his wife, his words - "she'll want for nothing!"

Edit My uncle was my mum's brother.

Yes, my DH is wonderfully supportive towards his DM (85), who has dementia. Ok, it’s my SIL (my BIL’s DW) who does the lion’s share bug she lives much closer to her. My DH is also very supportive towards my DM (87 in September). He is also a very loving father.

So yes, men can be wonderful. But that doesn't mean that there aren't some horribly abusive men (like my F, who sexually abused my DSis and me). So it's understandable that posters on here will jump to the belief that PC must have really been the one who was guilty in this case.

None of this prices either way what really happened in this horrific case, obviously.

placemats · 16/08/2026 16:29

My father was an abusive man who both physically and sexually abused me. He was extremely physically abusive towards my eldest brother.

It's awful 😞

Sparrowsandbudgies · 16/08/2026 16:30

The thing is, PC can be a shit husband, a cheater, an awful person (if you believe any of those things), or even just extremely odd. It still doesn’t make him a murderer. I don’t know why people can’t accept that.

In some ways the whole “PC killed the kids” take on it is doing a lot of damage to what should be an interesting discussion about post partum psychosis and post natal mental health in general. It’s distracting and taking away from it all.

I’m not saying I can’t accept that. I was just trying to explain the realisation of my own bias that I have genuinely not realised before.

I definitely agree that it should open up the discussion about post natal care and support and Women’s health in general. I don’t think it will, but it should.

Oh I get you, my comment wasn’t specifically aimed at you. I think if we’re honest a lot of us feel the same. I’ve been in abusive relationships, all sorts of abusive things happened to me in my childhood. I don’t trust men easily. That’s a given for a lot of women.

placemats · 16/08/2026 17:24

PC comes across to me as a man who doesn't like his authority being questioned. That's not in any way implying he's a murderer.

That’s not at all how he came across to me. He was nervous, suspicious of the prosecution, repeated a few times that LC was a good mum. Even when the prosecution tried to paint LC as controlling he had her back.

Thank you. I do realise I need to check myself and my immediate views at bit more though. It’s not nice when you have to question yourself and your own bias ☹️
