I have 18 months old and 5 year old. We had to cancel holidays this year but i really really want to go to the beach at least for a day! it has to be this Wednesday. its a long drive, around 2-2.5 hours. I have not been at the beach in the UK yet. What do you suggest ? :D

Any tips or advices for a day trip with two little kids?

The sea can be a bloody long way out at both places. Check tide times if you actually want some water

Neither. Go to Hunstanton instead.

With children I’d go to Heacham. It’s lovely…and very close to Hunstanton for the arcades/fun fair etc if they like this sort of thing.

Beaches at Sheringham and Cromer are lovely

Wells is beautiful but a long walk to the sea at times
old Hunstanton has a lovely cafe and easy beach access but again a long walk depending on tide times
park at le strange arms - and then walk through

The thing about Hunstanton is that it is a quiet and traditional old-fashioned seaside resort that has a proper seafront with a promenade, and lots of shops, cafes, stalls selling buckets & spades etc. Plenty of toilets too. There is a little funfair at the southern end, which is designed primarily for small children. We've been going there for many years and love it. There is also the Sealife Centre.

@RealReginaPhalange Whatever you decide, check the tide tables first.

As well as points mentioned by PP, Cromer has the pier; Hunstanton has the Wash Monster; Wells Next The Sea has a bus to bridge the gap between town and beach. I haven’t been to Heacham.
I love holidaying in this part of the
country. Have a great time.
