I have had tinnitus and hearing loss in left ear for 12 months. I saw the audiologist and the identified hearing loss but no issue with inner ear pressure. I was surprised i thought it was my inner ear. Audiologist said ENT might want to scan.

In the mean time I have a growth on my tonsils and I am on the fast track to ENT MRI and surgery within a week. It was different ENT consultant but I told him and he added the ear scan to the urgent neck scan.

Go to have tonsils out and I’m in recovery waiting to to go into theatre and he’s said he has checked the MRIs and the throat is probably a cyst but he says they found something with the inner ear. But he will deal with that after I have recovered. This guy is the nicest man in the world . I have no issues with my treatment it has been excellent.

can anyone suggest what might be wrong with my ear?

Your tinnitus and hearing loss, esp. in one ear only, means you could possibly have an acoustic neuroma (noncancerous (benign) tumour). When I was suffering from pulsatile tinnitus (heartbeat in my ear). I had a head scan, nothing was found. They are slow growing, with I believe an almost 100% survival rate. Please try not to worry too much, I know I did to start with.
