....that little gap that slowly appears when you have had your nails done (particularly gel/acrylic) and then your nails grow?

I know that it is natural - nails grow - but I can't bear to look at it for some reason.

I rarely have my nails done for exactly this reason.

Just me?

Much healthier for your nails not to bother any way OP. And natural nails are much more attractive.

Regrowth?

Qualitypinnacle · 09/08/2026 16:01

I've noticed this on people as well and yes 'regrowth' covers it. I don't have my nails done either

Regrowth which you then get touched up/infilled. Same with hair roots when dyed.

You forgot to add ‘in my opinion’ to the end of your final sentence.

I had a terrible nail biting habit until about 8 years ago when my exasperated eldest daughter bought me a voucher for a session. I always thought 'getting your nails done' was something for other people but ever since then I've been going regularly, my nails have grown and I love having varnish on. I had to have it removed for surgeries recently and I was bereft! My nails are in really good condition and I just have plain colours. Each to their own eh?

'Regrowth'.

Stay natural.

It always surprises me that the therapists wear masks to do this, yet the clients aren't offered a mask. I know that potentially the therapist may do this multiple times a day, but you are still breathing in filings aren't you.

Yes you are right.
My apologies.
Of course it's only my opinion and I realise a lot of women don't feel the same. Otherwise virtually every other shop in the town I live in wouldnt be a nail bar.
